Spyder 4 pop ups blocking text and other apps

I just updated to Spyder 4.

I have a problem with the interactive help pop ups being obstructive (see attached for a very minor example) - they block what I'm trying to read and overlay onto other windows when I alt/tab between other apps. It's a serious negative about this update. I've looked in tools to turn it off but can't see what would do it. If there's no way to turn it off how can I go back to older versions of Spyder?

OK - I think I'm being overwhelmed by more things I hate about this new version, how do I get back to Spyder3?
