Re: [spyder] %paste not working in IPython kernel

%paste magic is only defined for the terminal version of IPython, not
for its graphical frontends (i.e. the notebook and qtconsole) because
they don't need it.

Just paste the code with Ctrl+C and you'll be fine. Remember that can
also select some text in the Editor and send it to IPython with F9.
