Hi!

Just started using Spyder yesterday as a MATLAB user trying to learn Python. I love it! One little gripe is that I can't get a keyboard shortcut for the Clear Shell command. I mean, if there's no "clc" command, it would be nice if I could at least have a working keyboard shortcut. If I right-click on the console it tells me that I can use Ctrl+Shift+Esc, but of course that opens Windows' Task Manager, and I can't seem to configure this shortcut from the Preferences dialog.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Randy

I think that most people still expect this system shortcut to open Task Manager on Windows. I don't know if it is possible to override it at all. Anyway - it is a bug that should be added to tracker.

Yep, I just noticed the conflict a couple of weeks ago. I'll change it
as soon as possible, but as Anatoly said, please open an Issue in our
Issue tracker

http://code.google.com/p/spyderlib/issues/list

so we can remember it

Cheers,
Carlos

You must be the first person to attempt using this shortcut on Windows :-)

Anyway, this is an issue.
Would "Shift+F1" or "Ctrl+Shift+F1" (for example) be good alternatives for you?

Ctrl-L and other letter shortcuts doesn't seem to be working at all in console - see http://code.google.com/p/spyderlib/issues/detail?id=1065
