[ANN] Spyder-notebook 0.5.1 is released

Hi all,

On the behalf of all contributors, I'm pleased to announce that version 0.5.1 of the notebook plugin for Spyder has been released. This plugin allows you to use Jupyter notebooks inside Spyder. This release is based on the new version 4 of Jupyter Lab (up from version 1.2) and the even newer version 7 of Jupyter Notebook.

The advantage of these new versions is that Jupyter extensions like ipywidgets will now also work inside Spyder (note that not all extensions are yet updated to work with Jupyter Lab 7). Thanks to all contributors to Jupyter and Spyder, especially the Jupyter Notebook team, to make this happen.

We recommend that you install the plugin using conda or mamba from the conda-forge channel. An alternative but unsupported installation method is to use pip. Spyder's stand-alone installer unfortunately does not allow you to install plugins.
