IPython console: an error ocurred while starting the kernel Either: Your IPython frontend and kernel versions are incompatible

I install the anaconda, then change the default python interpreter to ArcGIS 10.3 python2.7.8 win32 in preference--console--advanced setting, but when i restart my spyder only to find the IPython console occur a error. Following the instruction, i change my python version in spyder using conda install python=2.7.8; but why i still cannot open IPython? thanks~

Hi,

You can't use the IPython console in combination with ArcGis because you don't have installed the qtconsole package in your ArcGis interpreter. I don't know if that's possible. It all depends if ArcGis comes with pip or not.
