Hi,

I am having a problem updating Spyder. At startup, a dialogue box is telling me that Spyder version 4.0.1 is available. But I don't see it in the Anaconda Navigator. When I look under "Install specific version", the most recent version is listed as 3.3.6, which I already have. I would like to have Spyder 4.0.1.

Things I've tried so far: 1) conda update spyder, 2) Uninstalled Anaconda, installed the most recent version on the Anaconda website, 3) Uninstalled Anaconda again, this time also manually deleted .anaconda, .conda, and .spyder-py3 folders in my computer which apparently remain after Anaconda is uninstalled, reinstalled the most recent version Anaconda.

None of these worked. Yes, unbelievable, but the Spyder that came inside the Anaconda that I downloaded today also shows as version 3.6! How is this possible!?

How can I get 4.0.1?

The installer available on the Anaconda website is not up to date. After installing it type in:
conda update anaconda
This should update your Anaconda installation and include Spyder 4.0.1.

Hi,

I've tried the conda update anaconda through Anaconda prompt, it has updated the packages except spyder. The version is still 3.36. Can you help.

Thanks in advance.
