WELCOME TO ST PIUS X ROLLING FELLOWSHIP!!!!

We typically enjoy a road ride on Thursdays from May-September. We start PROMPTLY at 6pm and will ride for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours. All are welcome to enjoy fellowship, food & drink, and FAITH (Evening Prayer at 8:45pm)!

PARKING: Let's meet in the parking lot NEXT TO THE RECTORY.

EVENING PRAYER AFTER: We are planning to have fellowship after the ride with EVENING PRAYER AT 8:45PM. After prayer, we need to clean up and leave NO LATER THAN 9:15pm. Our wonderful priests need their rest to guide the flock bright and early on Fridays! THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION! :)

**If you think you will be hungry after the ride, be prepared to bring a snack to eat for yourself or to share (fruits/veggies, sandwich, pizza, bag of chips, pretzels, popcorn, combos etc). IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY A BEER or your favorite adult beverage, PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN or enough to share if you wish.**

RIDE GROUPS: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE carefully consider the group you are riding with. It seems the B group tends to divide into 2-3 sub groups. NO RIDER LEFT BEHIND- THANK YOU!! :) **Dropping people is NOT the purpose of this group, nor is it the responsibility of the same rider every week to make sure everyone is together. OFFER UP a ride one week this summer and help the group!** That said, it is encouraged that everyone carry their cell phones with them and a map if your phone is not smart.

1) DROP RIDE- 20+ mph avg (25-30+ miles)

2) NO DROP RIDE- 18-19 mph avg (25-30 miles), will stop at major turns to regroup

3) NO DROP RIDE- 16-17 mph avg (25+ miles), will stop at major turns to regroup

4) NO DROP RIDE- 14-15 mph avg, (17+ miles), will stop at major turns to regroup

BASIC SAFETY RULES & ETIQUETTE :)

Let's also refresh our memories of what SAFE cycling (especially in groups) looks like! Remember, you are representing St. PIUS X PARISH when you ride with us- let's make it a GOOD ONE!

1. Print & Sign attached waiver and bring it to the first ride you attend! (one time deal PER YEAR)

2. PLEASE do NOT ride more than 2 abreast on ANY roads (it's against the law). And HOLD YOUR LINE!

3. That YELLOW line or CENTER of the road? PLEASE STAY TO THE RIGHT OF IT!!

4. The law requires us to stop at Red Traffic Lights and ALL Stop Signs.

5. Caution other riders of upcoming road hazards, cars up, CARS BACK, etc by using your hands and VOICE!

6. Keep your language and gestures in check- regardless of what the drivers do. WE ARE REPRESENTING ST PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH- act accordingly!

7. BRING YOUR OWN BACK UP TUBES & CO2/air pump! We have amazing people that are more than willing to help with mechanicals, but please make sure you have your own spare equipment WITH you on the rides!

8. WATER!!! Make sure you have plenty of hydrating fluids and gels/protein bars with you on the rides. We don't want anyone passing out! We pretty much avg 30 miles depending on the group.

9. And lastly, please have an idea of where your ride speed capabilities are at. Better to try a slower group first than to take on too much.
