Hello,
I am calibrating TSS, TN, and TP on a monthly time step and want to make sure my observation files are on the right basis.
My observed loads are monthly totals: TSS in tons/month, TN and TP in kg/month (from WRTDS/EGRET). My SWAT+ channel_sd_mon outputs are TSS = sed_out (tons), TN = orgn_out + no3_out + nh3_out + no2_out (kg), TP = sedp_out + solp_out (kg).
When I compare, the Toolbox's exported simulated load series comes out roughly equal to my monthly total divided by the number of days in the month, i.e. it looks like a mean daily load (kg/day), not a monthly total. Comparing my monthly-total observations against that gives a ~30x mismatch and strongly negative NSE.
So my questions are:
1. Does the Toolbox expect observation loads as monthly totals, mean daily loads, or concentrations?
2. What does the exported simulated series represent (total load, daily-mean load, or concentration)?
3. For sediment specifically, the exported simulated TSS is about 2x my raw sed_out — is the Toolbox applying an additional conversion or including another component?
Thank you!
