Dear SPSP Graduate Students,
This is a reminder that registration for the 2012 Mentor Lunch starts today, January 5th, at 5pm(EST).   Click on the following link to register: Mentor Luncheon Website or read on for more details.

If you are attending the upcoming 2012 SPSP Convention in San Diego, you won't want to miss the two Mentoring Luncheons hosted by the SPSP Graduate Student Committee. The Mentoring Luncheon is a popular (and free!) event which provides graduate students with an informal opportunity to discuss research interests and career development with established professionals in the field. Small groups of students (usually 8 or 9 maximum per table) meet with mentors over the SPSP box lunch to discuss a variety of research and professional development topics. This year, as in years past, we will be hosting a Mentoring Luncheon on both the Friday and the Saturday of the conference. We have a great set of topics and mentors lined up for this year, and hope that many of you will be able to take part in this event.

The mentoring luncheons will be held Friday, January 27th from 1-2pm and Saturday, January 28th, from 1-2pm.

**The Friday lunch overlaps with Poster Session C and the Saturday lunch overlaps with Poster Session F.**

Below, you will find a list of mentors and topics for both Mentoring Luncheons and instructions on how to participate. Please take a few minutes to read the instructions carefully and then check out our list of 37 topics and mentors.

Sign-up for this event will begin Thursday, January 5th at 5:00pm (EST); space will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. If your request is received BEFORE Thursday, January 5th at 5:00pm (EST), it will not be processed.
This should help to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to receive this email and prepare for sign-up before sign-up begins.

If you would like to participate, please follow these steps:

1) Check the Poster Assignments page on the SPSP Convention website (http://www.spspmeeting.org/) to see when your poster(s) is/are scheduled. This will hopefully prevent people from signing up for and later having to cancel from a luncheon that overlaps with their poster session(s). Remember - the Friday lunch overlaps with Poster Session C and the Saturday lunch overlaps with Poster Session F. DO NOT skip this step!

2)  After 5:00pm (EST) on Thursday, January 5th, log on to this website to sign up for the mentoring luncheon by clicking on this link: Mentor Luncheon Website .Be sure to include your name, University affiliation, email address, and a rank-ordered list of up to 5 topics and associated mentors and day (Friday or Saturday). Some topics are offered more than once, so include the mentor name to ensure you sign up for the right table. Be sure to include ALL of this information, or we will not be able to process your request.

3) You will receive an email within a few days regarding your table assignment.

Remember - if your email is received BEFORE Thursday, January 5th at 5:00pm (EST), your request will not be processed.

Space is limited, so each student will only be able to participate in this event once (i.e. you won't be able to sign up for a table on both Friday AND Saturday).

Many thanks to all of the mentors for volunteering their time!

Looking forward to receiving your selections,
Megan Johnson, Mollie Ruben, and Krista Hill
on behalf of the SPSP Graduate Student Committee
