Dear SPSP member,
If you are attending the upcoming 2011 SPSP Meeting in San Antonio, you won't want to miss the two Mentoring Luncheons hosted by the SPSP Graduate Student Committee (GSC). The Mentoring Luncheon is a popular (and free!) event which provides graduate students with an informal opportunity to discuss research interests and career development with established professionals in the field. Small groups of students (usually 6 -9 maximum) meet with mentors over the SPSP box lunch to discuss a variety of research and professional development topics. Given the enormous popularity of the event each year, we will be hosting a Mentoring Luncheon on both the Friday and the Saturday of the conference. We have a great set of topics and mentors lined up for this year, and hope that many of you will be able to take part in this event.

Sign-up for this event will begin WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 15th at 12:00pm (EST); space will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. If your request is received BEFORE Wednesday, December 15th it will not be processed. This should help to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to prepare before sign-up begins.
You will find a list of mentors and topics for both Mentored Luncheons and instructions on how to participate by following this link (http://www.spspmeeting.org/gsc/mentored.html).

HOTEL MATCH-UP PROGRAM

This year the GSC will organise a Hotel Match-Up Program for those students interested in sharing accommodation with other students at the SPSP 2011 Annual Meeting. This program is ideal for those students travelling to the conference alone. The GSC cannot guarantee early-bird hotel rates, so the earlier you find a match and make reservations, the more chance you have of receiving the low rates. We encourage everyone to make use of the Official Conference Hotels mentioned above if you intend to room-share with another student!

If you are interested in sharing accommodation with another SPSP student member as a means to reducing costs please follow the link and provide your name, university affiliation and other relevant details (https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AqaAf4YASQ3adGlROTRYNFBKYnA0eHRxc0c4dzdwRWc&hl=en). In doing so, SPSP student affiliates who seek to share lodging with other interested student members can identify potential individuals quickly and easily.

The Hotel Match-Up Program is a service provided by the SPSP GSC. The SPSP or SPSP GSC does not assume any responsibility or liability for costs or any other issue that arising through the use of this service.
