The SPSP Graduate Student Committee is now accepting applications for the SPSP Student Poster Award 2011-2012. This award recognizes undergraduate or graduateposter presentations characterized by excellence in research, clarity in presentation, and personal knowledge in a discussion with the judges at the SPSP Annual Meeting 2012 in San Diego, California. Award winners will receive a monetary prize and public recognition for their achievement. In addition, the seven first place winners will also have their posters prominently displayed throughout the entire SPSP Annual Meeting.
Students who enter the competition will first have an award submission statement reviewed by their peers, who will select 35 finalists. These finalists will present theirposter during the first poster session of the SPSP Annual Meeting and be interviewed by several secret judges. On the basis of the judges' scores seven first place and fourteen runners-up will be selected.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for an award, applicants must:
* Be the first author on a poster submission to SPSP 2012*
* Be a full-time student (undergraduate or graduate) at the time of submission
* Be a student member of SPSP
* Be available to present their poster research at the first poster session as well as their originally designated session at the SPSP conference
* Present a poster that reflects the applicant's work, and not that of an advisor
* Work must NOT be in-press or already published
**An accepted poster is not a requirement to apply however it is a requirement to receive an award.
