Hi all,
Some of you may be aware that there is a rocket launch scheduled at Poker
Flat for very early Sunday morning (launch window opens at 4am); if there
is interest, we have the opportunity to visit the range for the launch, if
we are accompanied by someone with the proper credentials. This would be an
all-night activity, as we would have to be at the range sometime around
midnight and would be there for the duration of the launch, since the road
is closed when the launch gets close. If you are interested, send me an
email as soon as possible so I can get in touch with the right people!
Rides from campus to Poker and back could be provided, as well!
A reminder: *Tomorrow (Saturday the 25th)* is also the Community Space
Science Day event at the North Pole Library! The event starts at 1:30pm and
runs until 4pm; I'm planning on getting there between 1pm and 1:15pm to set
up our table.
A new opportunity: On *Thursday, January 30 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm*, Pearl
Creek Elementary School, we have an invitation to help out Zak (the physics
department's lab manager, for those of you that haven't met him) with a
science night for the students. If interested, you can talk to myself,
Austin, or Zak, or shoot one of us an email!
Have a great weekend!
