Hi all,

Some of you may be aware that there is a rocket launch scheduled at Poker
Flat for very early Sunday morning (launch window opens at 4am); if there
is interest, we have the opportunity to visit the range for the launch, if
we are accompanied by someone with the proper credentials. This would be an
all-night activity, as we would have to be at the range sometime around
midnight and would be there for the duration of the launch, since the road
is closed when the launch gets close. If you are interested, send me an
email as soon as possible so I can get in touch with the right people!
Rides from campus to Poker and back could be provided, as well!

A reminder: *Tomorrow (Saturday the 25th)* is also the Community Space
Science Day event at the North Pole Library! The event starts at 1:30pm and
runs until 4pm; I'm planning on getting there between 1pm and 1:15pm to set
up our table.

A new opportunity: On *Thursday, January 30 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm*, Pearl
Creek Elementary School, we have an invitation to help out Zak (the physics
department's lab manager, for those of you that haven't met him) with a
science night for the students. If interested, you can talk to myself,
Austin, or Zak, or shoot one of us an email!

Have a great weekend!

Hi Evans

I’d like to sign up to visit Poker Flats if there is room!

I’d also like to help at the science night on Jan 30.

Thanks!
Skye

I've sent the names of everyone who's contacted me and expressed interest
(see list below) to the GI personnel I'm in contact with, and I've
guaranteed us at least four spots. I'm going to do my best to make sure
that everyone has a spot, though I don't know how flexible they can be on
the number. I think for this time around, we may not be able to bring more
than just SPS people to the launch facility. I'll keep everyone current on
what the GI people are telling me; once I have information, I'll send an
email to those interested and let them know when and where we should meet.
We need to be at the range no later than 1am, and the drive takes at least
45 minutes, so I recommend we meet shortly before midnight.

Current list:

- Evans Callis
- Cory McDonald
- Austin Cohen
- Alexander Gloger
- Skye Hart
- Michael Martins

If it turns out we are only allowed to send four people, I'm happy to turn
over responsibility of the facility visit to someone else and take a second
car to view the launch from another nearby location, as well. Watch your
emails for updates!

Best,
Evans

Hey Evans,

I didn't receive your e-mail until now for some reason. No worries.
