I've uninstalled OpenOffice and installed LibreOffice. I've put a
launcher icon in the top panel to open the LibreOffice suite since it
doesn't seem possible to use the rpm in desktop-integration of the
LibreOffice download to insert it into the Applications menu of
PUIAS. (BTW, I've changed the normal Gnome app launcher icon to the
green/white tick icon from LO). Is there any chance that LibreOffice
will replace OOo in the future as the base Office suite?

The distribution is based on RHEL6, so unless RHEL changes to Libreoffice, we'll likely stay with OpenOffice. I know LibreOffice has done a lot of cleanup on OO, so it's probably worth looking at, but at best it would go into the unsupported repo as it is a deviation from the standard.
