Josko,
When I noticed that springdale was no longer building the i686 kernel,
I tried to contact the developer (was that you?) because you could
have used the patches elaborated by CentOS contributors. I remember,
earlier in the development, CentOS was helped by the patches in
springdale's 32-bit kernel. Now there are a couple of people who have
been helping the CentOS 32-bit kernels keep going. I am involved in
the project as well.
I think we should all work together to get the el8 version out the
door. Pablo Greco (one of the CentOS people) actually thinks el8 is
easier than el7 because the code is closer to upstream, so "less time
to break things".
