Thomas/Josko,

I've been getting this error for quite sometime, and I've been unable to
resolve it.

Error: Protected multilib versions: openmotif-2.3.3-1.puias6.i686 !=
openmotif-2.3.3-4.el6.x86_64

In debugging this problem, I attempted to remove the openmotif RPM and
try to reinstall it (and it's dependencies that had to be removed), but
I still get the same errors:

# yum remove openmotif22

# yum clean all

# yum install openmotif openmotif-devel openmotif-clients grace
grace-devel nedit xbae openmotif22

This results in the same error:

Error: Protected multilib versions: openmotif-2.3.3-1.puias6.i686 !=
openmotif-2.3.3-4.el6.x86_64
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem

Taking the advice of the error message above, I used the --skip-broken
switch along with the --setopt=protected_multilib=false option that
googling turned up. This provides more details, but still the same end
result:

Downloading Packages:

Transaction Check Error:
file /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/xmbind.sh conflicts between attempted
installs of openmotif-2.3.3-4.el6.x86_64 and
openmotif-clients-2.3.3-1.puias6.x86_64

The problem appears that it's still trying to install
openmotif-clients-2.3.3-1 instead of 2.3.3-4. I've confirmed this by
installing all of the above packages except openmotif-clients, which
worked just fine.

Thomas took a look at this for me a few weeks ago, and concluded the
problem was with my local mirror of PUIAS. I just changed all my .repo
files on one of my systems to point to
http://puias.math.ias.edu/data/puias, and I still get the same error:

# grep ^baseurl *.repo
puias-6-addons.repo:baseurl=http://puias.math.ias.edu/data/puias/$releasever/$basearch/os/Addons
puias-6-addons.repo:baseurl=http://puias.math.ias.edu/data/puias/updates/$releasever/en/addons/$basearch
puias-6-computational.repo:baseurl=http://puias.math.ias.edu/data/puias/computational/$releasever/$basearch
puias-6-core-debug.repo:baseurl=http://puias.math.ias.edu/data/puias/$releasever/$basearch/debug/os
puias-6-core-debug.repo:baseurl=http://puias.math.ias.edu/data/puias/updates/$releasever/en/os/debug/$basearch
puias-6-core.repo:baseurl=http://puias.math.ias.edu/data/puias/$releasever/$basearch/os
puias-6-core.repo:baseurl=http://puias.math.ias.edu/data/puias/updates/$releasever/en/os/$basearch
puias-6-core-source.repo:baseurl=http://puias.math.ias.edu/data/puias/$releasever/source/os
puias-6-core-source.repo:baseurl=http://puias.math.ias.edu/data/puias/updates/$releasever/en/os/SRPMS
puias-6-unsupported.repo:baseurl=http://puias.math.ias.edu/data/puias/unsupported/$releasever/$basearch

# yum clean all...

Can one of you please make this a priority? I need openmotif installed
for something (can't remember exactly what at the moment), and this is
keeping my systems from getting the rest of their updates.
