Greetings,

I was taking a look at the code on the SVN trunk with hopes of using
it in an upcoming project.

Before I could use the project there are a few things I would like to
help clean up.

1. org.springextensions.actionscript.collections::Map is referencing
mx.cllections.ISort which is not available on the target SDK of
4.1.0.16076.
2. There are a HUGE number of dependencies on spring-actionscript-
core.

The things I would like to change are:

1. Move to Flex SKD 4.5 or 4.5.1 to solve ISort dependency.
2. Refactor POM to ensure only the bare minimum dependencies are
included for each module.

My question for you is how should I provided my changes to you for
your review in hopes that they would be accepted?

Hi Lance,

before you start migrating to Spring Actionscript 1.1 you might want
to consider using the upcoming version 2.0. There is a beta site up
for it here: http://beta.springactionscript.org/

The sources are available in this branch:

https://src.springframework.org/svn/se-springactionscript-as/branches/2.0/

Version 1.1 won't be updated that much in the future, except for
blocking bugs etc. Version 2 is in beta but already quite stable (I'm
integrating it in one of my own projects at the moment). So you can
take a look at it and decide for yourself what the best choice is for
your projects.

If you want to donate patches you can use this mailinglist to notify
us, you can email the patches directly to me. I can be reach at roland

cheers,

Roland,

Thanks for pointing out 2.0. Looks like this is already addressing my
main concern about splitting out flex dependencies.

Also I found that about 90% off the dependency issues are really
rooted in the as3commons libs so probably best I start there.

I still have some ideas to improve the POMs for Spring AS 2.0 so I
will make those and post as patches as you suggest.

Thanks!
Lance

Hey Lance,

there is already someone on the spring forums who's been busy sifting
through the poms and cleaning them up:

http://forum.springsource.org/showthread.php?112006-stage-autowiring-without-XML-(Flex-4.5-SAS-1.2-SNAPSHOT)/page2

He has a temporary github page up that holds the new poms, its
probably a good idea to take a look at them as well. So that you won't
be doing double work and wasting your time.

I appreciate any help with the pom a lot, I'm not a maven/flexmojos
guru, so any pointers and/or suggestions for improvement are greatly
appreciated.

cheers!

Roland
