Spring Roo Cookbook status

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted any updates on the book in the recent past. This is where we stand currently:

1. All the chapters have gone through the rewriting phase, except chapter 7. I'll be completing the remaining work on Chapter 7 today.

2. All the chapters, except Chapter 7 have been copy-edited and have gone through one final round of technical proofreading.

3. In the rewriting phase, I've checked the recipes against Spring Roo 1.1.5, so if you are using Spring Roo 1.1.5 (which is recommended), then you'll not face any issues. At relevant places I have specified what difference (which are not many, except a few bugs in Spring Roo 1.1.3) you'll see when executing the recipes against Spring Roo 1.1.5 and Spring Roo 1.1.3. Also, in the rewriting phase I've refined certain recipes and moved around a few of them. The page count now stands close to 400+ pages.

4. As the add-on development varies slightly from one version of Spring Roo to another, I've written the Chapter 7 keeping Spring Roo 1.1.5 as the reference. I didn't see any difference in add-ons developed for Spring Roo 1.1.3 and Spring Roo 1.1.5. This Chapter should be sufficient even if you are working on Spring Roo 1.2.x.

5. Sometime in this week I'll start addressing comments from copy-editor and technical proofreader.

Hi everyone,

We are done with all the writing work and close to finish off editing. I expect that Spring Roo Cookbook will be printed in this month itself.
