Dallas Hands-On-Java September 26, 4th Wednesday
TOPIC: From Java to Groovy in a few easy steps
* September / October Plan: Let's Get Groovy !
The next two "Hands-On" months will be another opportunity to use a
productivity improving, incremental paradigm shift -- Groovy.
=> Have a copy of
http://groovy.codehaus.org/Download for the evening to
help us jump-start the process.
Paul Woods, will lead us through the "learning curve" of Groovy...
How about Closures? Hot topic but do you know the What? The why? Groovy
can give you the sweet taste !
We will create lists, maps, sort, range (say what?), loop,
transformations (oh yea) ...
Can I really migrate to groovy by removing all semi-colons,
setters/getters and change the extension?
( Check out the differences "cheat-sheet" -->
http://groovy.codehaus.org/Differences+from+Java )
Wear your tie-dye shirts, and lets get Groovy !!!
Bring your computer or bring a friend with one to team up with!
This group is *not* all talk. This will be an interactive, hands-on session.
