I plan to model a light shelf that is both exterior and interior of the window.  The wall will have two windows, bottom view window, light shelf, the top daylighting window.  What is the best approach in SPOT for this configuration?  Should I define an overhang attached to the Exterior and the light shelf attached to the interior?  Or a single free floating block positioned half way?

Hi Chris,

You can model such a lightshelf as two different elements, an exterior and interior if they have different properties or as a single block that simply extends from the inside to the outside.  I usually model this as two separate ones, one fixed to the interior and one fixed to the exterior.

Cheers,
Zack
