Zach,
#3 fixed it!!
I got onto the trial version.
Thanks you very much!
When is the last date to purchase license as beta? If we purchase it before then, once the SPOT pro 5 is released, can we get the update at no cost?
Thanks,
Victoria

Subject: Re: Installing issues
Hi Victoria,
So I am unable to replicate this error on my machines and am finding several cases of this error and several solutions but I am not sure any will relate to your issue. I have never seen this error before and SPOT does not directly do anything with this file and so I am guessing it must be some issue with SPOT and some other excel install or add-on that is causing conflict with this file. I am going to list the solutions I found in order of which seem most valid. Some of these solutions are somewhat complex as they have to do with updating registry so you may want to consult with an office IT person. Let me know if any of these work for you. I am sorry you are having this trouble installing - it is strange one but hopefully I can get to the bottom of it and get a fix in the next release.
1) Some people saw the problem go away if they were administrator or member of an administrator group. You could try this first.
2) If you observe this error right after an "Add-ins" tab:
Step 1: First you need to observe if your problem is similar to mine. So observe, when you start any Microsoft program before the vbe6ext.olb message shows up on screen, look at the menu tabs. First all the tabs are loaded. After that In a split second the "Add-ins" tabs shows up and then the "vbe6ext.olb" dialogue box shows up. If you observe this pattern, then move to step 2.
Step 2: Once the problem has been determined, the solution is to un-install the add ons that you might have downloaded. I mean all the free add ons off the internet. I had downloaded "XY chart labeler" and "Math type", for college assignments. Now, close all your office software. Then, uninstall the add-ons from control panel > add/remove program. Do not just disable the add-on, uninstall them fully, from your machine. Start the office program to check that the problem has been resolved. It should be.
3) Another somewhat easy fix that seems safe in that it can be easily undone by renaming the file back:
. Close excel program.
2. find the file vbe6ext.olb in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VBA\VBA6
3. rename the file to vbe6ext.OLD
4. open excel program and go to "developper menu", if you don't have this menu, right click in the ribbon menu, "customize the ribbon" and check "developper" at right list
5. click on "visual basic" to open it
6. a pop up window comes to ask if you want repair the programme, clic yes
7. leave running the repair
8. close excel and reopen it...
4) Or it could be as easy as (I think if you have both 32bit and 64bit installed):
Resolution was:
Copy
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VBA\VBA6\VBE6EXT.OLB
To
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VBA\VBA6\VBE6EXT.OLB
5) Here is another fix that has to do with updating the registry: (The third party tool they refer to is just a windows registry fix tool)
You can solve this issue by calling the regsvr32 file and to do this you have to make sure you run cmd.exe as “Run as Administrator and the below given the location of VBE6EXT.OLB”
regsvr32 -u “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VBA\VBA6\VBE6EXT.OLB”
Then you have to check the below given location
regsvr32 “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VBA\VBA6\VBE6EXT.OLB”
If you are unable to apply manual steps and want to get an easy solution you can apply a third party tool which will provide instant solution from the VBE6EXT.OLB error.
6) If that doesn't work it could be related to the error that happens with Solidworks. This seems to be the most complex fix:
I got a VBE6EXT.OLB could not be loaded error when I wanted to install this really great tool-set for Excel that I've been using for years form http://www.asap-utilities.com on my new machine which has MS Office 2010 installed.
So I found this solution posted on Solidworks forum after some Google digging:
Make sure the following items exist in your registry:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{0002E157-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{0002E157-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\5.3]
"PrimaryInteropAssemblyName"="Microsoft.Vbe.Interop, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71E9BCE111E9429C"
@="Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications Extensibility 5.3"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{0002E157-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\5.3\0]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{0002E157-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\5.3\0\win32]
@="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Common Files\\Microsoft Shared\\VBA\\VBA6\\VBE6EXT.OLB"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{0002E157-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\5.3\FLAGS]
@="0"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{0002E157-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\5.3\HELPDIR]
@="[{0002E157-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}]"
Note: You could download & import the above registry keys into your registry as a .reg file from the original post below.

Ok - I will dig deeper - the error message did say VBE6EXT.OLB correct. It was a little hard to read.

Hi Victoria,
It seems like this error may be related to Solidworks - do you have Solidworks installed on the machine? All I can find about VBE6EXT.OLB is about a corrupted Solidworks file and the fixes have to do with repaing or reinstalling Solidworks. I have never seen this error before. Someone reported it happening after uninstalling OneNote 2013. Before I dig any deeper, maybe you can confirm if this could be it.
Regards,
Zack

Hello Zack,
My name is Victoria. I was on the workshop today. This is what I get whenever I try to launch the software (first image). I click on OK and (second image) there is another error message. My company would like to purchase the software but I cannot get it to generate the license code (third image). Please advise.
Thanks,
Victoria
