I am attempting to model an L-Shaped building given that I am limited to rectangular shapes.  In particular, I am not clear on how to approach the modeling of the spaces at the inside corner of the L.

The building is open office concept with no space partitions in the vicinity of the inside corner of the L.

In my naivety I started out modeling with the intention of modeling 2 long rectangles and adding interior blocks along the transverse axis separating each leg of the L. Then I realized that I can't model an interior wall as a block running on a 45° angle.

Now I am pondering two approaches, both of which ignore the "light sharing" at the inside corner spaces:

  1. Model one long rectangle and one short rectangle.
  2. Model three rectangles - a square, and two rectangles.
Equest HVAC zoning of the project:

Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

Hi Chris,

Sorry for the slow response - I think I responded to your other L shape inquiry and missed this one.  You can use blocks to model an "L" shaped space but unfortunately cannot place windows on the block side of the space as it is treating it more as an internal obstruction.  Hence, there will not be a way to build a model that shares light between these inside corner spaces.  You can however model each separately and use the blocks to create the correct self shading and reflective surfaces for accurate daylight modeling.

This feature is on the list and a solution for fully function L shapes spaces will released at some point.

Regards,
Zack
