We had good success with the conversion over to Clearant. Here are my notes and a few things to consider.

What made our conversion relatively seamless:

  1. Determine if you are using cc tokens for your credit cards. Clearant disabled tokenization a few days before the scheduled installation of the terminals. You know this has happened because the “Retrieve CC Token” and “Clear CCOF Entry” buttons are missing on the A/R-CC tab on the customer accounts.  When they are gone you can enter credit cards directly in SPOT.
  2. While tokens were disabled, we kept a list of cards that had been updated without retrieving tokens.
  3. 2 days after install I called Clearant to have the tokenization turned back on in SPOT.
  4. I refreshed all of the workstations after.
  5. Since everything has run normally and the machines are much faster than the old ones.

75% of out business are done with cc on file as orders are prepaid before they are delivered and processed through route trac. Having a smooth transition was vital to our day to day operations.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, will be more than glad to walk you through the process.
