Here is my situation. I am a graduate student at the University of
Denver working on a practicum project. My job is to find out if our
athletic department's proprietary Stat Crew software can be mapped or
crosswalked over to SportsML. I am not a programmer or coder. I do
have some knowledge of XML, but am not an expert. I have set up an
excel spreadsheet with elements and attributes of Stat Crew and
targeted elements and attributes for SportsML. Will the Sportsfeed
software help me in any way? There must be an easier way to do this.
Or can it not be done? Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, I believe that sportsfeed could help you to achieve your goal as
it can be used to automate fetching xml content and applying xsl
transformations before saving to disk or database. It sounds to me
like an xsl transformation would be perfect for your situation,
assuming that the Stat Crew stats are in xml. To get started, it
sounds like you wouldn't need sportsfeed right away, just a browser or
some other tool like xsltproc or mono-xmltool so that you can test
your xsl transformation.

I forgot to add that if you might want to use sportsfeed after you've
honed your xsl transformation to automate fetching the xml, applying
the transformation and saving the transformed document.

James, does Stat Crew output to XML or does it still
export HTML?

Did you have any luck transforming your stat crew stats into sportsml?

I would be willing to help get you started creating an xsl
transformation from stat crew to sportsml. Post some stat crew xml if
you want to give it a try.
