I did some digging thru the Diamond Digest and on the July 27th 2018 issue,  I found this query used, & I copied & pasted directly from that daily report. The clear text on the query says left on base, but the LOB parm was used, which by definition is not the true number of runners left on base:

SU Play AGAINST Trend of the Day

The Mets are 0-23 SU as a road dog of more than 135 after a game as a road dog in which they left 18+ men on base and it is post All-Star break.

The SDQL Text is: team=Mets and A and line>135 and p:AD and p:LOB>=18 and AASB

You can't argue with 0-23 s/u - but still don't completely understand the statistical significance - some of those 18+ men "left on base" probably scored in the inning and were not truly stranded on base.

I also played around with the LOB parm and came up with this SDQL query:

p:TLOB>p:LOB and line>=-129 and total>=7 and season>=2007 and SGS<=4

AGAINST Team  11-27 71.1%  ROI: 28.2%

I don't even know how this could happen, where the "team left on base" could be greater than the LOB or "batter's who left men on base"?

I would also like to share a couple querries on when to bet against huge fav's and when to bet on bad teams this time of year:

line<=-306 and total<=9.5 and C and NDIV and p:runs>=2 and date>=20040904 and SG!=4

AGAINST HUGE F  31-25 55.4%  ROI: 72.3%      -       this query was 1-1 yesterday, both on the NY Yankees, including Severino losing as a -400+ Fav.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

On bad teams ... WP<=39.9

AASB and WP<=39.9 and NDIV and CH and line<=-101 and date>=20120826

ON NDIV CH  34-5 87.2  ROI: 55.0%

Much appreciation for all who helped me to better understand the difference between TLOB & LOB!

I don't even know how this could happen, where the "team left on base" could be greater than the LOB or "batter's who left men on base"?   It doesn't happen often 77 times since 2007. Just taking the last game for example STL v SFG 7/5/2018

STL Weaver is perfect through 5 In the sixth, after one out G Hernandez singles. Pence K (Causing LOB to be one) Then Hanson MMMBops a HR clearing the bases. Posey flys out to end the inning. Team LOB-0 (No one on base at the end of the inning)  STL retired the last 9 giants in order. LOB-1 Team LOB-0

Wouldn't this scenario be TLOB<LOB? My querry was TLOB>LOB?

A post by Joe Meyer:

"left on base is the sum or runners left on base over all batters while team  left on base is the sum of all runners left on base at the end of each inning."

A post by MLB Winner

"To see the difference, consider an inning in which the first three men walked and the next three struck out.  The number of runners left on base by the individual batters is nine and the number of runners left on base for the team is only three.

In other words, team left on base is only the number of runners on
base when the inning ends.

In the SDQL, team left on base is abbreviated TLOB and the sum of all
runners left on base by the individual batters is simply LOB."
