Hi Everyone,
The Centre for Wireless Monitoring and Applications in conjunction with the Queensland Academy of Sport is interested is supporting high quality research of mutual interest to both institutions. The work should be conducted in sports and sporting interests of the QAS using, developing or applying new technologies of interest to the CWMA. The means of support is by providing top-up scholarships for existing PhD students to allow them to focus more completely on their studies, together with an allowance to present their work at national conferences. Conference participation is intended to be educational as well as to share their developments with the sporting and academic communities. It is envisaged that the scholarships will be awarded for one year initially with the option of renewing for additional years.
We are calling for expressions of interest principally from scholars or intending scholars within the CWMA though partner institutions may also be considered. In your expressions of interest you should state the aims of your work, its relevance to the QAS, progress to date, expected publications and outputs, together with a statement of how the scholarship will enhance your progress.
For students that will undertake IAP in 2012 we are also considering a summer internship programme that will allow you to have a jump start on your IAP project within the centre in a sport focused application. We would like to hear from you as well.
looking forward to hearing from you,
Danny
