Well...
It seems like everybody on the escape pod underestemated just how empy
space really is.
But...
We just might have found a new planet that is actually habitable! It's
not much... and it's by far not a new Sporeum... and most of all we
(meaning I) haven't finished terraforming it yet. But once the
terraforming is complete, I would like to invite you to set foot on a
new planet after all this time in thise pod.
Translation: I'm almost done building a community website, you're all
welcome to join. :)
PS: Show me you're interested and I'll show you more. ;)

It'll be nice to get back to some "serious"(in a different sense)
foruming. I mean, the Sporum isn't "bad" or anything, but it seemed to
lack the knit community I've seen before. Or, at least that's been my
perception so far.

Not sure. It might just be that the others are kinda busy, and haven't
heard about it yet. (it's not like I know how everyone receives
updates here)

I'm not surprised at all that everyone else seems to be dormant. It
has been a LOOOONG time since we had any hope of landing. Sadly, some
of the folks here are probably gone for good. The pod was small to
begin with, just a few core Sporeumers and a few new kids. Kaploy9,
perhaps you could resuscitate Newt and get him re interested in what
is going on.
So, at least give us a glimpse of this "utopia", NF! We're dyin' over
here!

I'll let Newt know, and maybe I can leave a comment on some
Sporeumite's Spore Profiles that I've heard from recently.
As for some of the others, well, I don't think it would be a bad idea
to send an email to them at least, saying that a new site will be/is
up. (depending on the time of mailing)
I can speak from experience when I say that, even if someone is very
interested in/committed to something, it can still be forgotten about
when it's not involved regularly in their life anymore. All that it
might take to reignite their interest is just mentioning it, and
things can go from there. (Comedic example: Forgetting you and your
spouse's anniversary) :P
Also, I second the motion for a preview.

Hi people. My communication device (computer) is busted and I don't
think it'll be fixed until awhile. But I like the sound of this. I
just don't want to be left behind.

Ok, I'll try sending an email to everyone... after all that's why we
made the sporeum refugee roster anyway ^^
As for a preview I can't link you to the site directly yet, because
we're still doing some tests and the forum settings aren't completely
set either.
What I can do is tell you what the site is going to be about. Like I
said it's not going to be a new Sporeum, but I was making this site
with 2 friends of mine and I thought "hey, why not invite the Sporeum
Refugees?". So again, it has nothing to do with what we were planning
here... but it's good to get outta the Pod for a while and be able to
stretch your legs.
But enough jibba jabba!
The site is hoping to be a major online commmunity for a game called
"R.U.S.E."
Ruse is a real time strategy game but it's unlike any other that's
been developed in the past.
I've never been so excited about a game since Spore. Although it's a
completely different genre, and I usually don't stick around RTS for
too long, I've been nuts about this game since I first played the open
beta. It's really a game where you have to beat your enemy by being
smart and deceptive. Every game plays out differently... it's like a
modern version of chess, but much less boring.
It's available on Steam, and also on the major consoles as I remember.
But even if you're not interested in the game, we're going to have a
big Off-Topic section and loads of forum games as well. We also have a
long list of ranks you can level up through AND badges you can earn
AND points you can collect to buy items with in the forum shop.
So I have a good feeling about this. :)

Well, I don't see any reason right now that I won't, so count me in!
(I haven't looked into R.U.S.E. that much after I heard some news
about it a while back, but I think I'll take another look now..)

brand new website, so I'm also counting on you to advertise for the
site. :) Tell your friends, tell them to tell their friends and so
on... and be active on the website itself.. nobody wants to show up to
a website that seems to be inactive... we still have a lot of empty
categories, so we're going to have to do some talking. :)

you guys could be a little more active on the forum... there's a nice
off-topic section if you don't want to talk about ruse. There's still
a lot of room left for more forum game aswell. And soon there will be
a whole gallery section to share images and videos. come on! :)

Augh... yes, you're right, I know, I know.. But there seems to be so
much these days to get done... (and I I feel kinda behind everyone
there 'cause I don't have R.U.S.E.) >_>
Say, is there a downloadable demo or something? (and should I be
asking these sorts of things on that forum and all, to be "active"
there and stuff?

Yeah feel free to ask anything in the forum. It doesn't matter that
you don't have the game. Right now we just need active members to hold
over the few members that we have now with some activity, even if you
only play the forum games. :)
