Heya, I tried looking for threads on this subject but didn't see any that relate to my specific problem.

Basically, googlebird has kindly given permission for me to create a 'British Candy' picture quiz along the same lines as her 'Candy!!!' quiz. I've created a collage of images in picasa, uploaded it to photobucket and followed the instructions on the Sporcle quiz creation FAQ regarding creating image quizzes. However, when I test out the quiz I can't see the image - all I get is a little box with a red cross in it. Have I done something wrong?

Thanks,

Try this:

<img src="INSERT COMPLETE URL HERE"><img>

A complete URL will include http://

To adjust the width or height
<img width=??? height=??? src="..."><img>
Where ??? is the number of pixels or percentage of the screen to use

I forgot a / on the second <img> should be:
<img src="INSERT COMPLETE URL HERE"></img>

Thanks puckett86. I've followed your advice (and discovered that I'd missed off part of the code at the end) but unfortunately, the box with a red cross in it still appears. Could it just be because my internet is slow at the moment, or something like that?

Try renaming the copy of the picture file on you computer, reuploading it to PB and the after it's finished loading entering the new url. One the off chance that you're entering something other that the url, it should look something like this: http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j360/username/filename.jpg

If you had to edit the picture after uploading already and reupload the edited version this is likely the problem, same goes for if you somehow entered the url in to the media info section of the quiz editor and saved it before the picture had finished loading (though that's unlikely).

Thanks. You were right, it was a problem with my URL. I think I must have been trying to use the album URL instead of the one for the individual image! Anyway, it's all sorted now and I've made the quiz public. Enjoy (I hope!) Any feedback welcomed.

When I was making an image quiz, my url had "?action=view&current=" in it and it didn't upload correctly. When I deleted this, the image uploaded. I'm just saying this if anyone (like myself) comes to the forum trying to figure out a problem with their image quiz. Citkeane's format is correct and puckett86's instructions work for uploading.
Thanks guys!

Yeah, I know this is an old thread, but it's put in the resources so I give it a go. I have some classic quizzes and I want to attach a picture to them. The problem is anything I put in the Add Media is displayed above the game, even above the timer. Any way for it to appear below the answers?

As far as I know, there's no way to have the Add Media section displayed below the answers. If anyone knows of a way, then I'm sure they'll visit this section and post how to do it. Possibly if you made your quiz into a Map quiz (with the image as the "Map") instead of a Classic quiz, that might help you achieve something closer to what you want.

Well, I can't because it is a Classic quiz. But no matter, I've published my game in the meanwhile and even with the media above I think it looks decent:

Sorry to resurrect an old quiz, but there didn't seem much point starting a new one. I thought I'd asked my question before, but can't find an answer anywhere.

Basically, I've decided to make a picture box quiz along the same lines as my other picture box quizzes, but although I've managed to upload the image from photobucket ok, when I test the quiz the image is too wide. How do I reduce it to a manageable size? I know the answer involves adding something to the code in the 'Add Media' box under the 'options' tab, but I can't remember what. Any help gratefully received! It's so long since I created an image quiz, I've forgotten how to do things!

Cheers, triplet_3

Never mind, I'm an idiot. I just noticed that puckett86 addressed this right near the beginning of the thread...
