I got an external hard disk with lots of stuff I use in it. I connect it to different computers, sometimes not mine, so I use "NTFS drive protection" to keep my files from being deleted accidentally or by antivirus false flags or other reasons. the only problem I have is that Windows defender deletes or quarantines some of my files each time I connect it to a system with active Windows Defender.Is there any way to manipulate my files so that windows defender can't delete or quarantine it because of its stupid false flags or anything else. May be better to say "is there any way to make files inaccessible for Windows Defender?" or "Is there any way to make files that are falsely flagged in windows defender look the other way?".Regards
Of course, if you open the encrypted container, the virus scanner will still delete your stuff. There is no way to change this. If there were, it would be a monumental security issue.
I installed the beta version of macOS Ventura and would like to have a stable version of Xcode (e.g. 13.4.1) running, but it says "The version of Xcode installed on this Mac is not compatible with macOS Ventura"
It really can work via terminal command "open /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/MacOS/Xcode" but not by directly launch app file method. You should make sure 2 things: 1. for having downloaded Xcode 13.4.1.zip file and extracted to Xcode.app file, 2. for the app's location and name...are they actually same with terminal command mentioned above.
Hi, I had the same issue and what I did to resolve it is downloading the beta of xcode 14, it's like a beta thing, once I had Ventura's beta, I needed the xcode beta that Ventura supports in this url , there you have to click download in the top right corner and then search for the xcode14 folder and download it.
This whole thing raises the point as to whether it is even worth running the betas at all if you're a developer. If you're a developer, you need to release your app to the App Store on a regular basis, and you can't do this with a beta. So why even bother testing it? I cannot take a four month vacation from releasing app updates, and dual booting is inconvenient when I actually have to use the machine, as I'd rather spend time using the OS I can actually develop from.
There is a good reason for wanting to run older versions of Xcode. We recently had a regression in our app and I had to use git bisect to find when the regression was introduced. Without the ability to run the version of Xcode that was used to submit the app, I have no way to test an old release of our app.
I share the same sentiment as @zumacinsmity. On a regular day I support versions of the apps that are developed using older versions of Xcode. At least one major version older. In my case I was trying to install Xcode 13.2.1
When i tried opening enscape it just goes to 5% and then it closes as you can see in the attached video. I have the latest version of enscape and i also tried using a lower version of enscape, Already tried updating my laptop's gpu driver, even rolling it back to lower version, i even tried to reinstall enscape and sketchup but it doesnt changed the problem. I have a dealine this friday and it sucks that the problem shows at this moment. Hope you can help me solve this problem. Also attached the specs of my laptop for reference.
Exactly same issue started with one of my clients laptops yesterday. All drivers updated, all temp files cleared, re-installed Enscape, etc. Feedback sent, but like usual, everyone has a deadline. If you find a solution, could you please also post it here for us to try?
Hello, i think i'm having the same issue. I have Rhino 7 and Enscape version 3.5.5 (latest that works ok for me) but i also tried updating to 3.5.6 and going back to 3.4.4 but the same thing keeps happening. It was working fine until a few days ago. The graphics card driver (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU) is updated.
In addition, for quite a few users experiencing this the solution was to simply disable the Intel on-board graphics in their system (if available alongside your dedicated graphics card from AMD/NVIDIA), as detailed here:

Hi, I manually disabled Intel graphics card as suggested and this allowed Enscape to start up - however it had a lot of blacked out elements and the lighting/rendering was not working properly / as expected, and textures appearing oddly etc.
After checking out your logs and machine information we should then be able to assist you further with this behavior, as this may also occur due to multiple reasons. (One being outdated graphics card drivers for example)

While enscape has been working fine for me since I subscribed last december. I was prompted to update my enscape version this morning on the 31st of Jan 2024. After the update I noticed that enscape would not run, a popup window comes up shows the enscape bar running from 2%-5% and it disappears. I have noticed similar threads that have described expriences similar to mine. Can you please help me with this problem? I have a few drawings that need to go out to the client.

Just to make sure, have you tried disabling the Intel on-board graphics (if available) as proposed to see if that makes a difference? We should of course be able to resolve this with a future update soon, though if you're unsuccessful with using Enscape still after disabling said on-board graphics, then we may have to investigate further in that regard.
I have now turned off the Intel Graphics card, my laptop now only works on the RTX 4080 graphics card. Will this affect the rest of the laptop or can I expect a performance drop in other programs? If your problem has been resolved, is it wise to switch the Intel card back on?
By the way, when I reinstalled Enscape, I noticed that all the boxes in - general settings - rendering - were suddenly unchecked. I checked this again, so I have a 'normal' image in Ensape again, without strange lighting and such.
That's a good question, but there is no need to worry as the Intel on-board graphics chip is normally not used anyway when you have a dedicated GPU available, which is definitely the case here of course with your RTX 4080. In the end this means that disabling the on-board graphics should make no difference at all, though in case you may ever remove your graphics card for whatever reason and still need to use your machine without, then make sure to ideally re-enable this functionality prior.
Please also submit us a feedback report as detailed here, and once we've reviewed your case we will get back to you with a dedicated solution/explanation depending on your logs/machine information. As we're still investigating any further potential issues in this regard your input in form of said report would be appreciated.
