Hello Guinea Pig Sponsors!

I. Totals so far/Personal Update
II. July's piggy! Urgent-we are in danger of not meeting our goal!
III. Benefit concert for Sponsor a Guinea Pig!
IV. Opie's thank you note.
IV. Until next month.

I. Welcome to Newsletter #10 of SAGP! You may have noticed a newsletter did not appear last month-my apologies! I have recently begun a new job with The Humane Society of the United States (national office). I am elated about it and really love my job. At the same time I also moved, so things have been impossibly hectic. I'm sorry to have neglected the piggies!

What you've all been waiting to hear though, our total so far! We've raised $3,739.16 in just eleven months! Isn't that crazy? Think of all the guinea pigs that YOU have helped, and to what a tremendous degree!

II. A Warning! We are in danger of not meeting our goal for July's piggy, the very adorable, presidential, Barack. He is a sweetheart piggy who really deserves the best we can provide him. His goal is a modest $239, and so far we have raised $125-we have just $114 left to go! If everyone on this listserve donated just $3, we would be sure to meet the goal and help out this dear boy. Whatever your politics, piggies aren't partisan! They'll take veggies from anyone :) To read about Barack's story, please visit: http://sponsoraguineapig.blogspot.com/2009/06/julys-guinea-pig-of-month-barack.html

III. Meanwhile, something exciting is brewing. There is possibly going to be a benefit concert for SAGP in Chicago! More details will be posted on Sponsor a Guinea Pig's home page: http://sponsoraguineapig.blogspot.com/

IV. Opie's thank you letter: Opie was neutered on May 28 and everything went well. We want to thank everyone who donated to Opie's cause and the volunteers who raised funds for him. Thanks to public support, we were able to cover all of Opie's medical needs for his surgery. His impaction problem is already showing improvement. We are hoping that now he will be a happier and healthier pig and live a longer life!

V. Adorable Bunny's thank you letter: We very much want to express our appreciation to everyone who read about our sanctuary pig, Bunny.  We never imagined that people would be so generous in helping us pay for Bunny's expenses.  My goodness, but she should be set for quite a while.   That is so helpful to us here at the Wisconsin Guinea Pig Rescue, especially in these tight economic times.  Bunny will continue to live in a spacious cage with her little friend and will continue to get all the hay, pellets and daily fresh vegetables that she needs.  On her behalf, we offer you our sincerest thanks.

From all of us at the Wisconsin Guinea Pig Rescue

VI. And that's it from me! Toon in next month, when I should have a newsletter in on time, featuring August's mystery pig from a rescue never before featured!

Warm Regards,
Shevaun Brannigan
SAGP Director
