Hello Guinea Pig Sponsors!

I want give you all a special thank you for all the work you've done. Critter Connection, last month's rescue, contacted me the day their month ended with an emergency plea for a new guinea pig (Tigger), and you all really came through. We raised $115 in a day for this piggy. Thank you. That brings our total fundraising to...$ 11,562.37!

I think that's pretty incredible. We are making a real difference in the lives of piggies.

That's not stopping this month either. This April we are featuring a pig in dire needs of funds. So far MGPR has spent almost $2,000 on our piggy of the month, Truman Truffles. This may seem crazy, but Truman's foster mom writes, "If anyone would wonder why so much is being done for one little pig, it's because he is a very special little pig. The moment you hold Truman you understand that he connects and bonds with humans in a way few guinea pigs do. " There are just some animals who really grab at our hearts, and Truman is one of these piggies. I've met him before, and he is indeed a sweet boy. http://sponsoraguineapig.blogspot.com/ to see his story and adorable face.

Our fundraising goal for Truman is $375. I think we've been doing a great job with these higher goals, and hope that this will keep up throughout April and the rest of the year.

I also wanted to let you know about a pretty cool thanger I got my hands on, too--guinea pig puppets! http://sagpstore.blogspot.com/ you can see them here. There's a limited quantity because I ordered them in bulk from a UK company (please take a moment here to imagine my SO's face when I came home with several dozen guinea pig hand puppets--he thought I had gone crazy!), so I would act fast.

If you donate at least a dollar to MGPR, you can get a dollar off on each puppet you order. Rescues can also get discounted rates. They're great for raffles, kids, classrooms, and rescue expos.

Anyway, thanks for reading, donating, and passing along Truman's story. I know I can always count on you.

Many hearts,

Shevaun Brannigan
