Hey Everyone,
This is the rough draft for what I plan to present tomorrow. I plan to jazz it up a bit with a custom bike-related slide template and some spokescouncil logos and crap. I'm also going to make stuff appear on clicks from me so it'll come up when I want to talk about it. I could use some help in the "Benefits to UCF" section and if anyone has suggestions on other points to make or anything in general let me know.  Just so you know, I like to have slides pretty bare with lots of pictures and few words.  I plan on talking a lot about most of the bullet points so it probably won't be as short as it might look.

Thanks,
Marcus

You should say, bikes are a benefit to the uc community. There are
several initiatives in place now to promote both health amongst the
student body, and environmental sustainability. Bikes are effective in
contributing to these visions for ucf, and also fun, convinient and
inexpensive for students. An increase in bicyclist on campus can
relieve some of the over-crowded parking.

Also keep the PowerPoint as short as possible. And emphasize the
health and environmental initiatives.

From the UCF Climate Action Plan (link):

"Commuting: With 90 percent of its student population living off campus, UCF is a commuting school. UCF estimated that students commuted 29.3 million miles and faculty and staff commuted 16.1 million miles - a total of approximately 11,815 MtCO2e emitted from students and 6,534 MtCO2e from faculty and staff."

That means if we can even get just 1% of those commuters to bicycle to campus, we'll reduce carbon emissions by 118.15 MtCO2e - equivalent to planting 50 trees a month.

Yay data!
