Dear Spokes member,
Kent County Council are proposing the creation of a traffic-free cycle route between Whitstable and Herne Bay by improving the path on the northern side of A2990 Old Thanet Way between Church Street, Whitstable and Canterbury Road, Herne Bay. The main reasons behind the proposal are to:
- Reduce the accident levels involving cyclists on the A2990;
- Encourage greater attendance by bicycle at Herne Bay High School;
- Link up with a cycle link that’s being developed by Canterbury City Council between the new Oyster Bay Trail and Herne Bay High School.
