Cycling consultations in Ashford, Thanet, and Whitstable

We hope that you’re interested to hear about these latest cycling developments, and that you would consider adding your own voice to the consultations that are currently out for them.

 

Draft Ashford cycling strategy

Kent County Council have just released a draft Ashford cycling strategy is now out for consultation. Proposals include:

  • Improvements to National Cycle Route 18 through the town;
  • Development of a cycle path at Godington Park;
  • A Learning Link path;
  • Upgrade of a path between Birling Road and Mill Court;
  • Creation of a path between Church Road, Sevington and Aylesford Green;
  • Improvements to the cycle link to the William Harvey Hospital;
  • Connect the Stour Centre to Tannery Lane for cyclists;
  • Development of a strategic cycle route at Willesborough Dykes
  • A link between Bentley Road and Hythe Road;
  • The development of the Butterfly Cycle Network.

Comments need to be received by 30th April.

 

Cycle and pedestrian improvements, Pyson’s Road, Thanet

Kent Highway Services are currently consulting on a new pedestrian and cycle safety scheme along Pyson’s Road in Thanet. The plans are to increase the side of the pedestrian / cycle crossing islands, widen the cycle / foot paths, and install a couple of bollards to prevent parking on the cycle path.

Crab & Winkle Way bridges consultation, Whitstable

Kent County Council and Kent Highway Services are currently consulting on the proposed cycle and pedestrian bridges on the Crab & Winkle Way that will form part of the northern extension of this popular route into Whitstable.
