I've added a final tab to the /feed2 page, eg: http://www.spokenword.org/feed2/1

The new tab is "Subscribers" and lists all the collections that subscribe to the feed.

With this change, the /feed2 page contains a superset of the data on the /feed page, hopefully in a cleaner and more-useful format.

Still a few bugs (some local column sorts) and changes to be done (eg, RSS icon simplification), but this is essentially what I propose to replace the current /feed page. If it looks good to you (and hopefully a lot better than the old page), /feed2 will replace /feed in the next few days. And if that goes well, I propose using this table-view style for similar pages such as /program and /playlist (collections).

Feedback appreciated once again.

Thanks.

p.s.: Geeks: You might enjoy a View Source to see what it takes to do this using the YUI. Nearly 900 lines of JavaScript and CSS. About 400 lines of new server-side code to support it.

Oh, nice work, Doug! (been away few days, missed an iteration or two, I think) I like the "I" information icon to show info, and I like the subscribers tab too. That increases the ease of finding those serendipitous connections to other interesting feeds, programs, and users. +1!

this is getting very nice

the only thing that hit me was the page got very short when I went to the comment tab when not logged in for all the other tab you have set height may this tag should have the same height you could add the log in form to the not logged on version as it could be the next action.

got this error when I logged in using open id

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Exception' with message 'cUrl error: couldn't connect to host' in /var/www/haystack/functions.php:1222 Stack trace: #0 /var/www/haystack/classes/RPX.php(819): cnPost('https://rpxnow....', 'token=4bad7da48...') #1 /var/www/haystack/classes/RPX.php(767): RPX->apiCall('auth_info', Array) #2 /var/www/haystack/classes/RPX.php(175): RPX->auth_info('4bad7da48c42aaf...') #3 /var/www/haystack/classes/RPX.php(78): RPX->receiveToken() #4 /var/www/haystack/components/login-rpx.page.php(31): RPX->dispatch() #5 /var/www/haystack/simplePage.php(54): require_once('/var/www/haysta...') #6 {main} thrown in/var/www/haystack/functions.php on line 1222

had to re-go to the log on page to get logged in

can please clear the prompt text in the comment text area when we click in  as i am to lazy to delete it my self :-)

It may help to description to the top of the log scan to explain what this is.

I prefer the page numbers to be in the form for <prev 1.. 56789 ..100 next> without the first and last as this form tells be now many page there are through this does need more work when you change the number of line to show

as geek move the JS into a file and put it on a CDN so it is cached before it goes live

Sorry I spotted a few more bits as typed

I don't understand what your saying. Yes, the Comments tab will be very short when there are no comments. Why is this a problem?

Thanks. I should be able to track it down with that info.

I've added that to the to-do list.

Once it's stable, that's where it will go. Just want to get the kinks worked out first since updating our CDN is not an easy process. We're using Amazon's Cloudfront for this.

I means the page jumps as you click the tab its not a fault but hard on my eye it makes me jump and if you wish to add a comment you need to log in so it would be nice to provide a log in form or the comment form in the empty tab (gives you some to fill the tab)

This just a cosmetic comment all the other tabs have fix height
