I think it does make sense, and I've been trying to rally some
enthusiasm from developers for this. If you haven't already, check out

You should also take a look at the apps from PRX:

PRX is a partner of ours and we work a lot with their developers. In
the June timeframe they plan to move some of their iPhone app code
into open source. We can probably get it even earlier than that. It
would be great if we could be part of their open-source project.
I think the real challenge is to figure out what the SpokenWord.org
app needs to do. But I'm not the best person for that. It's probably
best left to you and others. I'm too close to the internals to really
understand the use cases.
But I do write the API code myself, and I'm glad to add any methods
you need to support the app. You should probably join our group if you
haven't already:
