I had the pleasure of being part of a team to introduce 51 4th through 12th graders to rocketry through Spacepoint https://www.spacepoint.org/ in Sandpoint, ID at the library today. The goal is to get the kids interested in pursuing a career in the rapidly expanding space industry. The kids built Estes Alpha III and Generic EX2 rockets and I provided an intro to rocketry talk. We then went to a field a few miles north of town and launched them on A8-3 and B6-4 (and a couple of unintended C6-5 motors). The kids and parents all seemed to enjoy the day and we are hoping to form a couple of American Rocketry Challenge https://rocketcontest.org/ teams for the coming year. Thanks to Bob for the base presentation that I converted for this event.

Thanks for putting your time, effort, and knowledge into this---I'm sure you've sparked a lifelong hobby in some of these kids, and I wouldn't bet against a few of them becoming genuine rocket scientists!

That sounds like a great day for them Marty!!  I’m happy it went well and kudos to you (and Bob) for getting more youngsters into Rocketry (and maybe less video games!).
Thanks for the recap and pic.
Rick
