I had the pleasure of being part of a team to introduce 51 4th through 12th graders to rocketry through Spacepoint https://www.spacepoint.org/ in Sandpoint, ID at the library today. The goal is to get the kids interested in pursuing a career in the rapidly expanding space industry. The kids built Estes Alpha III and Generic EX2 rockets and I provided an intro to rocketry talk. We then went to a field a few miles north of town and launched them on A8-3 and B6-4 (and a couple of unintended C6-5 motors). The kids and parents all seemed to enjoy the day and we are hoping to form a couple of American Rocketry Challenge https://rocketcontest.org/ teams for the coming year. Thanks to Bob for the base presentation that I converted for this event.
