Hi all, and hello Jeff

First of all, thank you for these two packages that are really useful every day.

I am currently working on rare species dataset (low detection probability and a lot of sites unoccupied). I was using the zero-inflated poisson to model its occupancy but now that I try to model a local relative abundance with spAbundance (NMix and spNMix), and I didn't see any zero-inflated poisson possibility. Is it not implemented yet or maybe I didn't look at the right place ?

Thanks again !

Sylvain

Hi Sylvain,

Thanks for the note. You are correct in that there is no zero-inflated Poisson option for models in spAbundance. I do not currently have any plans to implement that in the near future, so you might have to fit such a model in NIMBLE/Stan or some other software if you need the zero-inflated component.

Kind regards,

Jeff
