What happens if you forget to hit submit to sponsor past deadline date?

The actual date that SPO clicks the "Submit to Sponsor" button is recorded ONLY in the route log in PD and there isn't a field where the submission date rolls over to IP. That's why the sponsor's due date is so critical to complete in both PD and IP (assuming there is a due date or enter the submission date if there is no due date). It's editable in PD until you hit "Submit to Sponsor" then it's only editable in IP.
