Sponsor Hierarchy maintenance document is used to establish and maintain hierarchical listings of sponsors that are made available for display and selection in various areas of the system. Kuali tracks sponsors at the lowest level and SPO can define the relationships between individual sponsors.
Sponsor Hierarchies are a key component for reporting. For example, a number of institutes and centers make up the National Institute of Health (NIH). NIH, along with other sponsors like the Center for Disease Control and the Food and Drug Administration, are part of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Kuali tracks individual sponsored awards at the institute level, but for reporting purposes, all NIH or all DHHS awards may need to be reported together.
Sponsor Hierarchies will be created and maintained by the Kuali System Administrator at SPO.
