How do I notify the CPHS, IACUC, or BioSafety/BioHazards committee that an award (or proposal) involves or may involve research compliance?

At the PROPOSAL stage:

There are a couple ways to involve a research compliance officer. The first is to add them as an Ad Hoc Recipient - APPROVER, ACKNOWLEDGER, or FYI. The process is the same. The difference between the options is detailed here. Here's how to do it: How do I add an Ad Hoc Recipient as an approver, for acknowledgement, or FYI?

Alternatively you can give view-access only to the record:  How do I give a person view-access to a proposal (without making them an APPROVER)? This does NOT insert them into routing and no record of their approval will be documented in the route log.

At the AWARD stage:

If you need to notify a research compliance committee that an award involves compliance here's how:

1) When you're creating the award record in Kuali, navigate to the Award Action tab and open the section called "Ad Hoc Recipients"

2) If you just want to notify the CPHS or IACUC, select "FYI", then enter the corresponding administrator's ID. Click the "ADD" button.

3) A properly added Ad Hoc Recipient looks like this, with a "delete" button to the right of the name. You must click the "SUBMIT" button now or after you've completed all your updates to the award record or this addition will not appear on the current record.
