What's the popup window message when I create a continuation in Kuali?

If you choose 'Continuation', 'Renewal', or 'Resubmission' as the Proposal Type these options become available. Typically Resubmissions would have an existing proposal already that you may want to version, or if not, you can create a unique IP.

Here's what they mean/do:

1. Generate a new version of the Institutional Proposal: This will allow you to version an existing IP with the updated proposal information. Also, both proposals would be linked to the IP in Medusa (or however many previous proposals were used to version the IP).

2. Generate a new Institutional Proposal: This will generate a brand new IP for the proposal not tied to any other record.

3. Do not generate a new Institutional Proposal or Institutional Proposal version: allows you to finalize the proposal without generating an IP. This could be used for routing proposals that may not be going to the sponsor; perhaps for internal review only. For example, a limited submission review for internal review by VPR or whoever to approve which would go forward for the institution.
