Students don't automatically have access to Kuali but we can back-end add one if you (faculty advisor) intend to supervise the protocol development and submission.
To get started, we'll need the following from you or the student:
- Student's First Name
- Student's Middle Initial
- Student's Last Name
- Student's NON CSUMB email address
Once we have this information and have configured the student into the system, we'll provide the student's Principal Name (aka: username) and Password which are completely different than their OtterID+Password. Then, we wait 24 hours for the profile data to propagate into our production environment. After the profile is in our production environment, the student will follow these instructions to log into Kuali Protocols:
Using an incognito tab in Chrome or using another browser (i.e.: Apple Safari, Internet Explorer, etc.) which you are NOT already logged into CSUMB with your OtterID+Password
- Navigate to: https://csumb.kuali.co/auth/kuali
- In the login screen enter the Principal Name (aka: username) and Password provided to you by CPHS (NOT your OtterID+Password)
- See the Welcome to Kuali message
- Open a new browser window and paste in: https://csumb.kuali.co/protocols/portal/dashboard
- The Kuali portal displays
Faculty advisers will continue to:
- Log into Kuali Protocols at the same, authenticated, URL: https://csumb.kuali.co/protocols/portal/dashboard
- Start the protocol you want to add the student to work on
- Add the student here and give the student "Full Access". You can also add them under the Student Assistants section below this but you MUST add them here or they will not have edit-access to the protocol.
