Sounds good — one thing that would be very helpful for me after your call is if you would indicate which sections of which chapters you would like to expand. Then I can provide for that space in the chapter outline. That way you all can focus on the writing and I can manage the structure of the manual, which is 5 chapters: intro; admin/scoring; interpretation; construction/standardization; psychometrics. Same as SPM and SPM-P, and every other WPS behavior rating scale.John

I need to change one item: “I have trouble coming up with ideas for games such as charades or Pictionary.” We try to stay away from copyrighted names for a number of reasons. We can change it so it just uses charades as the example.
Sounds good re manual. I have begun drafting an outline. I think a good way to work on this would be chapter by chapter, perhaps starting with chapter 1. Let me know the outcome of your initial conversation and I can put a working draft together.
Talk to you soon…

Hi John,
Today, we completed the revisions of both the Adult Self-Report and the Adult Informant forms.
See attached.
We will be meeting again next week to discuss the Manual.
BTW, we received the card from WPS announcing the SPM 2 data collection. Very exciting!
Best wishes,
Diana

Hi all,
Great that you all are taking the time to discuss these things now. Nothing in your document looks too crazy, so keep going. The main thing you will need to consider is what new elements you want to write and where they will go. The manual is going to be structured just like SPM and SPM-P – so think about whether these are more introductory issues about the instrument itself (i.e., Chapter 1), or more interpretive issues about the meaning of the scores (i.e., Chapter 3). On the technical side (e.g., Chapter 5), we can run whatever analyses we want, though I would not expect to find too much of interest. We’ll also want to be careful to not overstate a lack of findings. The SPM-2 is going to stand on its own merits.
A word on PROCESS: in the coming weeks I will be putting together a comprehensive outline of the SPM-2 manual – what I would ask you to do is please use that outline to make your final decisions about what new content you wish to include, and then we can build in some space for it. You don’t need to send me anything more in the meantime – that outline will be our foundational document and I will rely on you all to hone your content to your own satisfaction while I work on the more boilerplate stuff like tables etc.
I am still putting the adult form through the final proofing and loading phases.
How does that sound?
John
