Hi everyone,

I just received this report on Medscape today (attached) on teens with ASD who want to drive. Medscape posted a video of the author verbally presenting what's on the attached document. I was so pleased that OT was mentioned at the end.  I know that we are making sure that we don't claim that the Driving items on the forthcoming SPM Teen can be used to determine driving readiness -- but I hope that future research will be conducted using the SPM Driving items to help build a knowledge base for assessment of driving readiness.   I wonder if the Driving items may prove useful in the future as one part of an assessment of teen driving competency or readiness.

Howdy Diane,
Thank you for forwarding this. I agree with you that it would be a great assest to many to have a SPM-2 Teen driving form.

I am also thinking it would be good for our SPM-2 Adult.

Agreed – the driving items are already in data collection with the Adult forms, so we’ll have those results for SPM-2.
