Dear SPLASH users,

This is to announce that I have recently released my "development" SPH/SPMHD code, NDSPMHD, to the public. This is the code for which SPLASH was originally just the plotting tool (and became bigger than the code itself!) and contains all of the algorithms and test problems for both SPH and SPMHD described in most of my publications to date. The code and some basic instructions are available from:

http://users.monash.edu.au/~dprice/ndspmhd/

There are a number of exercises and examples associated with the code. The context to these examples is given in an associated review paper on SPH/SPMHD review I have written for J. Comp. Phys:

http://users.monash.edu.au/~dprice/pubs/spmhd/price-spmhd.pdf
or http://arxiv.org/abs/1012.1885

(the examples and the paper together form the main documentation for the code)

Please note that, unlike SPLASH, I will not be offering support for this code. NDSPMHD is also not meant as a "production" SPH/SPMHD code - it is designed to be very flexible, N-dimensional and with many runtime options as a testbed for SPH algorithms, *not* as an optimised, parallel code for running 3D simulations akin to GADGET (or my own PHANTOM code which is designed for this purpose).

Hopefully it may prove useful anyhow,

Daniel
