Authentic Method of Patanjala Meditation/Dhyana
A one-page document on Patanjala Meditation was released by Dr (Mrs) Rakesh and Mr Jathinder Abbi for worldwide distribution.
This method of meditation is:
1) Authentic: it follows the principles of Samkhya and Yoga accurately.
2) Simple: children as young as even 5 years can be trained to follow it.
3) Comprehensive: besides de-cluttering the mind, it alters the personality traits by selective removal of the unwanted impressions on the mind. So empowered, the layperson reaches the ultimate in the inward journey that life becomes void of pain and misery.
The Patanjala Meditation method has been devised by Dr. Harish Chandra based on his recent groundbreaking commentary on Samkhya. The author explained three fundamental issues on the occasion that make Patanjala Meditation stand out uniquely from other prevalent methods of meditation:
1) The difference between Intellect/Buddhi and Display Screen/Chitta is crucial. The practitioner must understand it as meditation requires cessation of images on Chitta. Intellect/Buddhi is engaged in discrimination via a process commonly called 'thinking'. When it ceases its thinking operation then it transcends to become Display Screen/Chitta. With some effort, one can learn to transcend Intellect/Buddhi to Display Screen/Chitta, as covered in
Patanjala Meditation.
2) It is necessary for Intellect/Buddhi to transcend to become Display Screen/Chitta so that one enters Inner Yoga that includes Concentration/Dharana and Meditation/Dhyana.
3) Following the instructions given in Samkhya 3.33, the practitioner can easily enter into Meditation/Dhyana. Its correct meaning was sadly lost several centuries ago. That means, most of the present meditation practitioners wander in Outer Yoga. Now, following the Patanjala Meditation method, they can gain a large array of benefits from their practice.
"White Paper on Meditation & Upasana" describes various theoretical issues related to Patanjala Meditation. That too was released by the Abbi couple in English and Hindi. Both documents can be obtained free by writing an email to
