Hello everyone - 

Thank you to the many - 27! of you who donated to this fundraiser that is so dear to my heart!! 

In all, we raised ~$7,500 for Third Root Education Exchange. The majority of al donations came at increments of $10, $20 - proving that every bit makes a huge difference. 

All week, I'm been teaching about generosity -  inspired by not only those who donated, but as well the generosity of those who participated in this fundraiser, and those who gave of themselves to create Third Root to begin with. Inquiry during classes have included - what it looks like to live honestly and with a generous spirit - one not bounded by unrealistic expectations, or personal agendas that taint the gift itself? Is generosity always characterized by giving away? What must we clear internally to live in selfless service to others? What boundaries are necessary to protect and sustain our inner light? (Join me for classes tomorrow (8:15am Shambhala, 6:45 & 8:15pm at Third Root) to explore this topic along with hip opening work).

I hope this finds you well! Spring is blossoming on this gorgeous day in Brooklyn. It is with the promise of the season that I write with a pitch - a straightforward ask for a financial contribution to Third Root Education Exchange (TREE)'s annual fundraiser, QUIZZO, from your heart to ours.

What's this, you wonder? Third Root, of course is my home base, where I teach yoga and co-run the collective made up of 10 incredible healers who offer acupuncture, yoga, herbal medicine & massage at sliding scale rates. TREE is the nonprofit branch of the business that makes our mission of accessible care possible through community health scholarships, manifests social justice consciousness within a healing context through just wellness panels, community health forums & yoga teacher diversity trainings. This is the crux of our work - making preventative, holistic care truly accessible for everyone from every walk of life regardless of income. Every body is honored and seen at Third Root.


During the month of May, we are fundraising to support all of TREE's programming through QUIZZO. Now, what is Quizzo you wonder? Well, it's a community building event in the form of a silly, costume filled trivia night. Teams are formed by community members from each area of work at Third Root (yoga teachers, herbal education students, practitioners, board members, administration/volunteers etc), we work together to raise funds and convene for this fun night together which takes place on May 31st. Help me meet (and surpass) my goal of $500 by the end of the month! This money will directly benefit individuals who cannot afford holistic services, provide no-cost educational health forums to specialized communities, and provide cultural competency programs for yoga teacher trainings so we may all move & heal together with more freedom.
