Hello Spire friends!

After discussing the idea with other Typelevel projects, I have
decided to close this group [1] and instead will be encouraging Spire
discussions to happen on the Typelevel mailing list [2].

This tends to be a pretty low-traffic list. My hope is that by using a
shared list to discuss all the Typelevel projects, we'll have larger
conversations and a bit more activity. One other goal is that shared
discussion lists will help facilitate collaboration and
cross-pollination between the projects.

Feel free to respond if you have doubts about this plan. I will wait
awhile before shutting this list down. But I will be updating Spire's
README pointing users to the Typelevel ML, and I encourage everyone
here to join that list now.

Thanks,

-- Erik

Some may consider the lack of traffic on the Spire list an advantage rather than a disadvantage.

What fraction of the Typelevel traffic is of interest to people for whose main interest is in high-performance code?

Both MLs are fairly low-traffic right now, but hopefully that won't always be the case. I think there is definitely advantage to a low traffic list, but exposing more people to Spire that may not be otherwise also has benefits. If we can generally stick to the convention of prefixing Spire-related questions/announcements with [Spire], then perhaps we could get the best of both worlds, as it would be easier to filter emails based on Spire in the title or message body for those who don't want the rest.
