Use your computer keyboard or click the piano keys to play the piano. The keyboard's top row of letters corresponds to the white keys, and the row of numbers corresponds to the black keys. You can play multiple notes simultaneously.
Click "Hide note names" above the piano to hide the note names. Click "Mark" to mark notes on the piano. Play the marked notes by clicking the "Play" button (only visible after notes have been marked) or pressing the spacebar on your keyboard.

Let's say I have a PC with two monitors atached. I'm running e.g. Windows Vista natively, and start up a virtual Ubuntu PC. I change to fullscreen mode so that on one Monitor, I see my Windows Desktop, and on the other one, the Ubuntu Desktop. I can now use my mouse and Keybord for both of them.
This works fine, but I'd really like to connect a second mouse and a second keyboard to my physical PC, and do some configuration so that one set of input devices is used for Windows, and another set for the virtual Ubuntu. Then two persons could work at the same time, as if they were using two separate computers, although there is only one physical machine.
I'm currently using Sun VirtualBox and it has a feature to assign specific USB devices to the virtual machine. While this sometimes works for e.g. external disk drives, it never worked for mice and keyboards for me (yes, of course my input devices are attached via USB!).
A multiseat, multi-station or multiterminal configuration is a single computer which supports multiple independent users at the same time. In modern usage the terms refer to multiple users using one personal computer, each with their own console, consisting of a keyboard a mouse, a monitor, and possibly headphones.
You can do this with virtualbox. I tested it with version 3.0.2 (not the OSE) with ubuntu as the host and XP as the guest, but this shouldn't make a difference. First you have to change the settings of the machine to pass the USB devices to the VM, but I guess you have already done that. For the keyboard you should disable "auto capture keyboard" under File->Preferences->Input. Then you start the VM and disable mouse pointer integration. Good luck!
I am using Windows 7 Pro x64. My VM is Kali Linux, the virtualbox I have is 4.2.xxx. I only installed extension pack and mounted the USB mouse and keyboard to the VM and it worked. I think it would have worked even without extension pack

Metronome The Metronome feature enables you to play at a regular tempo. Use it to improve your timing.
You can adjust the Metronome based on BPM (beats per minute) or time signature.

Virtual keyboards are represented by a keyboard icon . Clicking on the icon to toggle on/off the current IME or clicking on the arrow next to it to select another input tool. When a virtual keyboard is activated, the button becomes darker grey .
I recently bought a HP Spectre x360 - 13-4159nd and I noticed when switching the laptop into tablet mode, no virtual keyboard shows up. In the settings I've turned on the option to Optimise Windows when the device is being used as a tablet, but this just switches the screen to tablet mode while I'm still using it in laptop mode. The option is also automatically turned off again, when switching between different modes. In the settings -> devices -> typing the option to automatically show the screen keyboard when no physical keyboard is attached to the device is turned on. Is there any way to solve the problem of the missing virtual keyboard?
When I bought the X360 last week, the large onscreen keyboard automatically came up in tablet mode, not the "on screen box one" this one automatically went away when you searched. After a week its now gone and I keep finding these threads that show how to bring the box up.. what about the automatic one?
The is s great manual turn-on if the system pulls up the keyboard too slow for you. But if the keyboard has "poofed" on you all this does is confirm that it's gone "transparent". What's weird is that it pushes all the window up to make room for a keyboard that never appears (something the real keyboard does not seem to do). The last time this happened I did a bunch of updates and restarted and that fixed it, but it happened again. I can keep restarting but it's sort of annoying.
Android has an option to keep the virtual keyboard visible while a Bluetooth/hardware keyboard is connected but there seems to be no such equivalent on iOS. When a hardware keyboard is connected, the virtual (on-screen) cannot be used.

Locate the keyboard button in the bottom right corner of your keyboard
Press and hold that keyboard icon until you see a list of actions

I know a couple of the Bluetooth scanners I had used a quick double press on the scanner trigger to activate the onscreen keyboard. You might check your scanner documentation to see if there is something similar.
Every physical computer keyboard allows you to play notes from two octaves between C3 to C5.The white keys are mapped to the second row of keys: Tab, Q, ..., [, ] and Backslash.The black keys are mapped to the first row of keys: 1, 2, ..., =, Backspace.For example, C3 is played by pressing Tab while C#3 is played by pressing 1 and D3 is played by pressing Q and so on.Note that B4 is played by pressing the backslash key, while the Enter key plays C5.
If you have an external keyboard with a navigation cluster and a numeric keypad,then you can play three octaves from C3 to C6.The Delete key will play C5, Home - C#5, End - D5 and so on to 7 on the numpad being F5 and so on.
The keys from the row A,S,D and the row Z,X,C are programmed to play white key chords for rich melodies.Moreover, with advanced options you can assign any user-defined chord or single note to any key of the computer keyboard.Tick the CHORD checkbox to indicate a chord on the piano keyboard and then check it off to create a custom-made chord button.This button will play your chord but it can also be configured to be associated with a computer keyboard key.
You can record anything played by this virtual piano keyboard and play it back at will.To start and stop recording check and uncheck the box RECORD. A playback button will appear automatically.You can have many playback buttons: each with its own recording. You can even play back more than one recording at the same time while making another recording to combine them.

Your recordings and your custom chords are stored as buttons which can be dragged around to shift position.You can save all your buttons as a text file to your hard drive and then load this file later.Each button can be renamed and configured to be triggered by any key from the computer keyboard.You can program your computer keyboard so that each key plays a custom chord or a playback recording and then save the layout for later.
This is an online piano in the sense that it needs a live Internet connection to work.But there is an offline version available as a single HTML file that you can open in your browser without being connected to the Internet.Note that the offline version does not have certain features which require a connection.It won't save your work and you can't download audio files of your recordings.The better sound quality option is not available.You can use it offline for private personal use including in a school classroom or in a private class.Contact me directly if you are interested.
Load better soundsThe default sound files are optimized for speed of loading so that you can start playing the piano immediately without waiting for the sounds to load.However, this comes at the cost of reduced quality, which may be an issue when using external loudspeakers or headphones.Fortunately, you can optionally load better sounds if you need higher sound quality.
